Pensacola State College (15-10, 4-4) lost on the road Saturday to Gulf Coast State College (17-7, 4-3) 64-58. The loss drops the Pirates into 3rd place trailing GCS by half a game. PSC managed a two point lead to start the game, but then trailed the Commodores the remainder of the game. GCS held a nine point lead at half 36-27.
Wednesday, January 28th, the Pensacola State Women’s Basketball team fell to Northwest Florida State 83-52. The Lady Pirates came out nervous at the beginning of the game and were unable to calm down, knock down free throws and take care of the ball. Starting the second half the Lady Pirates came out harder but still were unable to take care of the ball.

Pensacola State Men’s Basketball battled hard but ultimately fell to Northwest Florida State College 69-62 in Hartsell Arena tonight. Turnovers, missed opportunities, and missed free throws led to the loss. PSC was led offensively by KeKe Williamson with 16 points along with another double-double by Rozelle Nix 12 points and 13 rebounds. Johnell Ginnie chipped in 11 points as well.
Congrats to former Pirate Taylor Eads being name to NAIA 2nd Team All-American.
On the eve of taking on Northwest Florida State College, Pensacola State Men’s Basketball moved up to #5 in this week’s FCSAA rankings. PSC will host NWF tomorrow night here at Hartsell Arena. Tip-off is set for approximately 7:30 p.m.
Sophomore LHP Thomas “Juicy” Huston was named to the Gulf District Preseason “Top Returning” list for pitchers. The Pensacola native returns to the Pirates after winning 6 games with a 2.72 ERA. Huston appeared in seventeen games throwing 76 innings giving up 46 runs while only 23 were earned. He struck out 54 batters while walking 18.
Saturday night, the Pensacola State Lady Pirates traveled to Tallahassee to take on the Lady Eagles where they came 2 points short of a victory. The Lady Pirates jumped out to an early lead with a 10-0 run against Tallahassee and were able to keep that lead going into to halftime.
Pensacola State Men’s Basketball traveled to Tallahassee and defeated Tallahassee Community College in overtime 54-53 Saturday night. The win dropped the Eagles (16-7, 2-4) to fourth place and extended the Pirates lead to a game and half over Gulf Coast (15-7, 2-3) and two games over TCC.
Sophomore 1st Baseman MJ Morrisette was named to the Gulf District Preseason “Top Returners” list today. The Mobile native returns to the Pirates after posting a batting average of .358 with 5 home-runs, 9 doubles, 2 triples and had 26 RBI. Morrisette also stole 4 bases last season.
